Our Team

Corey has been teaching since the last millennium, and he has a Ph.D. in Medieval Literature.  An early pioneer in online education, he founded Signum University in 2011 to show how online education could create better opportunities for teaching and learning than were possible through the old-fashioned approaches to remote learning that still dominate today’s systems, and many years later, Signum is still growing.

His years of experience running a startup school made him determined to create a better technology solution for small schools if he ever got the chance.  He has now gotten that chance, and is excited to help improve the lives of the other underappreciated school administrators out there. 

He lives with his family in New Hampshire, and he indulges his love for teaching through his several weekly broadcasts on the works of J.R.R. Tolkien, where he has been known for many years as The Tolkien Professor.

Darren was the second person to own the first computer in his small town, and he has been involved with programming and with tech startups ever since. Darren has been the architect of the core software of several small businesses over the years, including most recently the loan application system for a banking company.

He is excited to support education and give to schools the kinds of software support and attention that big companies take for granted. Darren lives in southern California, where he also studies music and plays the electric guitar.

Born into a long line of educators and school administrators, Eric received his PhD in Nutritional Biology with a focus on utilizing school gardens for education in K-12 settings. Eric interned at the California Department of Education and was a substitute teacher.

Since completing graduate school, he has worked at companies providing technology solutions to improve health and has a strong conviction that technology done well can be a real value add. He has been an active participant at Signum University since 2011 and has a passion for learning and Tolkien (thanks to his mom who was an English teacher for 20+ years). Eric lives in San Diego with his family, three cats, and 40+ board games.

Sharon got her start in the primary-school classroom, and she has been applying the child-wrangling skills she learned there to excellent effect in helping to manage the students and staff of Signum University for over a decade.

An excellent communicator with a knack for noticing where help is needed, Sharon has many years of experience on both sides of the administrative-support relationship.  She looks forward to the opportunity to get to know you and your staff, and to make sure that you get the help and support that you need.  Sharon lives in Arizona with her family, and she enjoys camping in the uplands creating digital art.
